English is my first (and only!) language. I have family roots in Belgium and The Netherlands, and I’ve wanted to learn another language just for fun for a long time, so I thought that maybe Dutch would be a good choice. Would Dutch be easy for me to learn as an English speaker?

I have good friends in Holland and a very special significant other in Denmark. I first started learning Dutch at the beginning of March this year and have found myself already quite fluent after only the first two months, to many people’s surprise. Therefore I do have some to practise it with, but should I wait to learn Danish after I have 100% mastered Dutch or would it be okay to start learning Danish and practise both at the same time? And if anyone knows this, which one is most difficult?

What, in your opinion, is the best website/program out there to learn either Dutch or German? I’ve downloaded some lessons from a few websites already for both languages but the teaching method isn’t very good. Any suggestions?

Hi there, i’m interested in learning either language out of interest, and i really like the sound of either one! My main way of learning the language tho would be through language software i.e. Rosetta Stone or whatever would come up.! The only language i speak right now is english, so i’d LOVE to learn more!
Well, i’m just interested in your opinions or if you have any person language learning experience between the two. All responses greatly appreciated! Thanks again!

I live in shropshire in the uk and am looking at taking lessons to learn dutch, i’d prefer an actual course or tutor to aid me rather than just online stuff and was wondering if anyone can share any light on possible places and where to look.
